Don’t panic! You still have the full support of the team. If you are unsure about anything or need some help, please ask. We would always rather you ask than second-guess something.

For your next few shifts, take five minutes at the beginning of each shift to read through this guide. Keep using it for as long as you need it — there is no rush to put it away until you feel confident.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOUSEKEEPER

This guide is designed to be your aide-mémoire and will take you through a typical day as a Housekeeper at Kenegie Manor.

Inside you will find:

• A Day in the Life — what happens from signing in to signing out.
• Cleaning Checklist — a general guide to the areas and tasks that need your attention. Please remember that every unit is different, so use your common sense and deal with anything else that needs attention.
• The Boring Administration! — a simple checklist covering the small amount of paperwork we need you to complete.
• Cleaner Feedback Form — at the back of the guide, your Supervisor has a form to give you constructive feedback, recognise what you have done well and identify any areas where we can support your training and development.

Once you are confident that you can consistently achieve our standards, your next learning objective will be completing your cleans within the required timescales.
