Top local events this Autumn

As well as Cornwall’s popular beaches, attractions and destinations, there’s also a wide variety of top local events taking place across the county which are well worth a visit. Some of our favourites include…

  • The Redruth International Mining & Pasty Festival takes place on 7 September and is a celebration of the famous icon of Cornwall – the Cornish pasty. Encompassing the mining history that is inextricably linked to the meal – and uncovering the magic of Redruth at the heart of Cornish mining.
  • The St Ives September Festival takes place from 8-22 September and sees more than 300 events take place throughout the town. There’s two weeks of great music, exhibitions, walks, talks, workshops, films, comedy, theatre and plays
  • The young and the young at heart will love the fun-filled Family Weekend at Eden Art’s Festival on 15-16 September. Mr Maker – as seen on CBeebies – will be appearing live on stage in a fun family show with art and its heart, designed to encourage Mini Makers and their grown-ups to sing, dance and make some noise!
  • The Falmouth Oyster Festival (11-14th October) is packed with cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and local ale, sea shanties, and marquees brimming with Cornish produce.
  • Falmouth Beer Festival (4-6 October): Annual beer festival this year at a new venue, Events Square outside the Maritime Museum. Experience a broad range of 240 local and national ales, real lagers, real ciders and perries, at one of the largest and best beer festivals in the South West.
