Short breaks in Cornwall provide a cheap and easy way to see a little slice of the county if you can’t spare the time (or money) for a longer stay. At Kenegie Manor we have some great offers on 3 and 4 night stays, with prices starting from just £285 this summer!
But what can you see and do if you’re only spending a short time in Cornwall? Well, you’d be surprised just how much you can fit in, while still enjoying a spot of relaxation! To help inspire you further we’ve put together a handy guide to ultimate short breaks in Cornwall….
So, you’ve only got a few days in Cornwall, right? How should you spend your time? Here’s our suggestion for the ultimate 3-day itinerary…
10am: Kick off your mini break by heading over to the north coast and the picturesque town of St Ives. One of Cornwall’s most famous destinations, St Ives boasts pretty streets, crammed with art galleries, cafes and restaurants. It’s also home to 4 rather special beaches. Grab some lunch here before heading on your next destination…
3pm: No visit to West Cornwall is complete without a trip to St Michael’s Mount. Head over from the mainland by foot or by boat and be amazed by the views of this Medieval island castle. Come ashore for a family outing, a tour of the castle or a garden visit. Scale the fairytale turrets for dazzling views.
6pm: After a hard day exploring beautiful West Cornwall why not finish off with a well-deserved portion of fish and chips? Stop in the pretty village of Marazion on your way back across from St Michael’s Mount for some of the best fish n chips in Cornwall at the Tudor Chippy.
10am: Just a short distance from our Cornwall holiday park is the Lizard Peninsula. The rare geology of the area creates a haven for exceptional plants and flowers. Around the coastline you’ll find little fishing ports with huge granite sea walls to protect from the Atlantic gales, restaurants specialising in freshly caught seafood, and gorgeous sandy bays with jagged black rocks jutting out in to the sea. The Lizard is a fantastic place for walks, too.
4pm: After a hard day walking the coast head back to Kenegie Manor and dive in to our heated swimming pool. After a few lengths why not relax in our sauna? What better way to unwind?
7pm: When it comes to great local pubs, you really are spoilt for choice. One of our favourites is the Coldstreamer Inn in Gulval. With a great menu, The Coldstreamer is divided into a bar and restaurant area, making it perfect for casual drinkers, family dinners and dog walkers alike.
10am: So it’s your last full day at Kenegie Manor… and what to do? Well, no short break in Cornwall is complete until you’ve checked out the far west of the county. Head to Sennen Cove and the legendary destination that is Land’s End for an unforgettable experience. Here you really will feel like you’re at the very end of the UK as you look out onto the Atlantic Ocean…
2pm: Spend the afternoon sampling one of the many fantastic local events. Cornwall has a jam-packed what’s on diary, with so much to see and do. From music festivals and food festivals to agricultural shows and air shows, there’s something for all tastes!
7pm: Spend your last evening enjoying a relaxing bite to eat at our Old Forge bar. Offering a range of great-value pub classics, the Old Forge is extremely popular – and means you don’t have to venture far to enjoy a tasty bite to eat on your last night!
